Scholarship Opportunities:

Accepted applicants will have until August 30, 2024 @ 12pm ET to accept their scholarship. Failure to respond will result in forfeiture of the award. There will be no exceptions.

Rejected applicants will be notified via email. If your submission is rejected, it means that you may be eligible, however, you were not selected during our randomized selection process.

Waitlisted individuals will be notified via email. If you are waitlisted it means that you are eligible, however, you were not selected during our randomized selection process. In the event that a scholarship awardee is not able to claim their award, waitlisted names will undergo another randomized selection process. 

• If you have been awarded a scholarship from the waitlist, you will be notified via email by August 30, 2024 @ 5pm ET. 
• You will have until September 4, 2024 @ 12pm ET to accept your scholarship. Failure to respond will result in forfeiture of the award. There will be no exceptions.
• Once the waitlist is dissolved, IDC will no longer pull names from the waitlist and applicants will be encouraged to apply again for a future scholarship cycle.

IDC is committed to centering BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and Transgender stories at multiple levels. We understand that this centering does not just happen by elevating anti-racist practices, but also by celebrating those who take action in making a deliberate effort to address broad systemic inequities - including underrepresentation in stories told on film and the stage.

We recognize the historical and ongoing disparities faced by these communities in being represented both in the forefront and in the background. Supporting professionals who focus on these identities allows us to contribute meaningfully to the dismantling of systemic barriers that have disproportionately affected BIPOC and Transgender individuals.

It's important to emphasize that our focus on BIPOC and Transgender students does not diminish the value or challenges faced by other communities. Rather, it is a strategic step to address specific and pressing disparities in the United States. We remain committed to advancing DEI principles and creating a more just educational experience for everyone. Certainly! Our program is open to any individual using their professional and artistic platform or work to center BIPOC and/or Transgender stories of intimacy in the U.S., regardless of financial status.

To assist you in determining your eligibility, we encourage you to reflect on the scholarship program's overarching goals. Our primary aim is to break down systemic barriers for historically disadvantaged groups, namely BIPOC and Transgender communities, and ACTIVELY promote their stories. Consider whether you identify with this description and reflect on the extent to which you use your platform to continuously resist systemic oppression against these populations.

It's important to emphasize that this is a personal and individual decision. We trust that individuals know their own experiences and intentions best. If you believe that the goals of the program resonate with your own journey and experiences, we welcome and encourage your submission!
